Rainbow River Springs

I have been spending a few weeks in Dunnellon, FL to spend some time with my parents and work on a few things in my Van. On this trip we did some hiking at the Rainbow River springs state park. It turned out to be a perfect day for hiking, sunny and cool. My mother proved to be a great trail guide sharing stories about the zoo and mermaids that used to be at the park back in its heyday.

If you've never been here there are a couple of great tubing options both from the springs at the state park, and from KP hole a little further down the river. There is a no alcohol or disposable containers policy on the river and they do enforce those rules so no partying on the water, but that makes it perfect for a relaxing day floating down the river in the perfect 72° spring fed waters.
