Great views,

dorky commentary

Hi everybody,

My name is Colby like the cheese, but you can call me Gouda and have I got some gouda views for you.

After ten years of working 9 to 5 in a cube and coming home only to escape into Middle Earth, Azeroth, Narnia, Westeros, or a galaxy far far away I decided I wanted to explore the world we have right here on Earth for myself.

Join me in my quest for the worlds greatest Mac & Cheese with exciting side quests like: Visit the firefalls of Yosemite, View the moonbow at Cumberland Falls, Spend a night outside somewhere with a total brightness below 0.2 mcd/m2

Up next is my trip from FL to Acadia. This leg will take me about 6 weeks with stops in five national parks as well as some small visits to Delaware and New Jersey to cross those off my list of states visited.

As always feel free to reach out to me here with travel, book, and Mac & Cheese ideas GoudaViews@outlook.com

It was bit cold for central FL, but a good day for hiking at the Rainbow River springs with my parents. Gotta love all the colors in FL even in midwinter.

Beautiful spot with lots of bug bites. Would have been a great location to try out my drone if it hadn't rained on my picnic.

Had a nice little weekend trip down to the everglades before I start on my big road trip out west.

I took a few days to go hiking in Pinnacles National Park, and got myself one hell of a work out.

Getting to Mammoth mountain in the winter requires going north around some closed roads so I spent the night at Lassen on my way. It's beautiful in the winter, but don't forget your sunglasses the glare off the snow is killer.

Spent the night at Bryce canyon before a nice six mile hike through the snow. Bryce is full of interesting rock formations, and if you camp out overnight and get an early start you can have the park practically to yourself -at least this time of year.

Spent a great afternoon in Arches. This is probably the most family friendly park I've been to yet.

Well it's canyons, and lands. What else do you need to know? Honestly it felt like I was on another planet hiking around here.
